1 Minute Timer — Fullscreen Flip Clock

Preset and ready — press start, no signup needed.

One minute is the classroom and kitchen workhorse — quick enough for a spelling round, a plank hold, or timing a short speech, but long enough to feel like a real countdown.

This timer preloads to exactly 60 seconds and starts on a single click. The oversized flip clock stays readable across a room, so it doubles as a group timer on a projector or shared screen.

Tip: Teaching or presenting? Hit fullscreen and place the tab on a second monitor so everyone can watch the seconds flip down together.

How to run a one-minute round

  1. Go fullscreen before you announce the round, not after. Sixty seconds is short enough that fumbling with the browser eats a tenth of it.
  2. Say the task out loud, then start. At this length people spend the first ten seconds working out what they are meant to be doing unless you front-load it.
  3. Press Reset rather than reloading between rounds. The page reload costs a couple of seconds and breaks the rhythm of back-to-back drills.

One minute is short enough that the countdown itself does the motivating — nobody paces themselves over sixty seconds, they just go. That makes it excellent for drills and terrible for anything requiring a decision first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I start the 1 minute timer?

Just press Start (or the spacebar). The clock is already set to 60 seconds — no configuration or signup needed.

Does it make a sound when it finishes?

Yes, a soft chime plays at 0:00 and the clock flips to zero so you get both an audio and visual cue.

Can I use it fullscreen?

Yes — the fullscreen button expands the flip clock to fill the screen, ideal for classrooms or a second monitor.
